We were approached by modern green to create an animation that would tell the story of Tiger beer, and also tie in with a campaign that was being held in bars around all Ireland. The animation would be shown on screens in the bars, and accompanied by an illustration that was created specially for the campaign. The illustration would set the style for the campaign so we would be using this as a guide for all of our designs.
Tiger has a great and colourful story, so we knew we could do some fun stuff with it. We were also really happy to be working with some really nice graphics, and felt that the graphic style that was laid out in the illustrations lent themselves very nicely to a motion graphics piece. The illustration looked like they had been cut out from classic magazines, and layered with spray paint colouring. We thought that these could be introduced really nicely, but must be held onscreen long enough for the visual story to come a cross.
All the images were designed inhouse, based on the visual style layed out, then finished in photoshop. Once the compositions we're created in photoshop it was just a matter of bringing them into after effects and laying them out in a 3D environment. We animated all the elements onscreen with the copy, then added some camera movement to give a sense of motion between transitions.
The campaign was a smashing success and the client was delighted, what more can you ask. These aniamtions we created are now being useed around the county and will represent the brand for the next year.
