Our clients at VSC Events were looking to launch Point Village Market with a powerful new brand, a full print campaign and a rich CMS website - all before the first weekend of the market!
We wanted to identify the most suitable demographic to target and then serve their needs best. We knew the use of traditional and digital marketing would play a key role in this. The market also needed to differentiate itself from other outdoor markets and promote the location of the venue from a transport point of view. Most importantly we wanted to show the wide variety and selection of traders and events at the market.
We focussed on the Female ABC1 30+ demographic for the brand, using colours and a font which worked to create a simple and stylish identity. To show the variety of the market we designed billboards that would rotate through three different designs, each promoting a different section of the market. This was also used as a web holding page while the site was in development. There were posters, flyers, street banners, and ¼ page print ads driving traffic to the website before the launch weekend .
The first weekend of the market was jam packed with an estimated turnout of over 20,000 people. The site received over 5000 visitors over the weekend and users stayed on the site for an average of four minutes.
