Nokia were launching their new ‘apps’ platform internationally and were looking to drive traffic to their site from Ireland. They needed online ads that would engage, entertain and educate their target market. Not a small task by any means, but also requiring that we work at breakneck speeds.
The agency was handling the majority of the creative and design on this project, while we were responsible for its production management and technical implementation. Experience tells us that it’s the content delivery side of things that causes most issues on projects like these, so we needed to make sure that the work could be broken into different elements which could then be worked on independently as the content came in. We were also conscious that the video would need to be planned carefully to make sure that the shots worked in the context of each different ad format.
We laid out the different shots that were needed for the live action shoot, and had these delivered by Pareto 3D. The ad units were built on the Doubleclick platform, and were passed out to a wide variety of the major Irish sites such as RTE, MSN, Independent.ie, and Facebook. We also produced the demo videos inside the ads, which worked to give every user a quick breakdown of all the features and benefits of the new Ovi platform, and drove qualified users to their site.
The ads worked perfectly and the client was very pleased with the delivery time. They ran in all the media without any complications and successfully drove traffic to the Nokia Ovi landing page. Everybody happy.
