We worked with Pareto 3d and Cashmere Media to produce this engaging online rich media campaign for Lynx. The client wanted to emulate an TV ad campaign about a guy whose girlfriend kept wrestling with him because of his irresistible smell. The overall concept was developed by the guys in Pareto3D and we were called in to deliver the digital end and special effects. The video needed to be extremely ‘customizable’, and the site also needed to be able to allow people to upload images of any size and aspect ratio.
The site had all the right ingredients in place to get large amounts of traffic, so it was important for us to manage the streaming of the content very carefully and to respect users’ time. The shoot also had some technical challenges that we would need to navigate.
The shots in the video played a huge part in determining what could be done with the technology we were using. So we made sure we were heavily involved during both the planning and shooting phase. We worked on the storyboards with Cashmere Media and had a ‘man on set’ as the special effects supervisor during the shoot. The video was made to start downloading and continue doing so while users were engaging with other elements of the site; even while watching video. So that users could upload images of any size and dimension to the site, we wrote a proprietary piece of software which allowed them to upload and edit their shots right in their browser
The final piece allowed people to upload their image to the site, along with their name and contact email. It created a fully personalised rich media experience that was fun and social.
