Grand Canal hotel came to us because they were looking for creating new ways to get their message out. Traditionally they had always done print material and radio ads, but now wanted something that was more measurable and that could access their target market better.
Once we understood their business model, and their target market, we could set to work on designing a strategy that would allow us to convert these prospects into real sales. The use of a microsite could play a key par in creating a brand for the seasonal product, and also facilitate rich media content seamlessly. We also thought it would be great to give it a different theme that all other years, and since they were giving away a free trip to New York in their casino, why not base it around New York and Las Vegas.
The site is built in php with some flash features. Users can watch a video about the christmas parties, look at all the details of the night, and book an event immediately. It is simple and stylish, but very functional. The video is created using Adobe flash and After Effects and is designed to look like the New York jazz art work of the 1930's, with a bit of Irish humor thrown in to keep it interesting (see if you can spot the pop twins in their)!
Gasworks sold out all of their nights two months in advance, and reduced their market ing spend by 50%. Not bad for the year that's in it. And our client is delighted with our work too, which of course makes us feel lovely.
